FEATURES SURVEY

I n 2023, CounselMore members took part in a survey regarding new features. Below are some of the highlights from the results:

  • Survey participants indicated the Counselor's Opinion Column was an important asset. However, contributions from our users decreased this year. It has been suggested that a member must contribute to the column before having access TO the column. Development will be looking to the Collaboration Lab to explore this issue.

  • CounselMore members found the accepted, declined, and analytical reporting valuable. However, for analytics to be accurate, it is essential for counselors to input their application results. How can advisors more easily enter outcome information is a question that will be further explored in the Collaboration Lab.

  • The majority of members would like to see a greater Gmail integration in the messages tab. This is not represented in the Collaboration Lab and Development is eager to learn more from members.

  • A significant number of members would like the ability to include the "Notes to student" column at the bottom of the "College summary" report. College Notes were aded to the bottom of Summary reports per request but were then removed because members voted to remove it. This new request will be explored before further changes.

  • There were requests for the ability to send an individual assignment instead of all active assignments. That request has been fulfilled and is not available in the new platform.

  • Almost all participants voted to NOT include the accounting tab in the parent portal. Until more in known, this issue is closed for now.

  • The majority of voters do not want a character count in the biographical banners. Members state that they use several different types of applications and this feature would hinder their work.

  • "College summary" reporting is now included on the development road map. A collection of improvements has been gathered and is currently underway.

  • The ability to sort assignments by due date or by selecting the option to drag and drop, was voted as acceptable with no requested changes.

In our January workshop, we learned about using AI for passion projects from Marc Gray, Director of Education at Odyssey College Prep. Each participant received an additional instructional video, a website template, and AI whisper for each phase of the project. If you'd like to gain access to that workshop, please email Support@CounselMore.com

THE DISCUSS COLUMN:

Organize college discussions efficiently by utilizing the "Discuss" column in the College List, instead of the "Notes to Students". This feature allows counselors and students to maintain an ongoing chat per school , offering a secure platform within CounselMore. By opting for the "Discuss" column over traditional note-taking, counselors can enhance decision-making communication per-school, keeping the evaluation focused.  Follow this link to find our more about the "Discuss" column.
